"This isn't your average night at the karaoke bar! Teams plan out songs all week to wow the crowd, who in turn get to vote for all their favorite performers. Audience members may also be called to participate in wacky karaoke contests, such as "Karaoke Roulette" or "Rock (Lobster) Trivia". The National Karaoke League was started in Austin, and strives to keep it real and keep it weird with some truly amazing karaoke performances all night long."

Luckily, competitive karaoke is easy to find in town: The National Karaoke League was formed right here in Austin. Yes, a national league just for karaoke exists. It was just started this year by Whitney Francis and Chris Larkin, who call themselves “karaoke nerds.” The first division opened up with 41 members, and it’s growing strong with new leagues popping up in other cities."
